Scattered
Scattered, smashed, torn, and mangled
Disassembled
Unpoetry
Like all the parts of a robot scattered everywhere
Bits of electronic components smashed
Love letters torn up
Mangled puzzle pieces that will never fit anywhere again
You have to destroy to create sometimes
But sometimes things are just destroyed and never re-purposed to a better use
What about those Cadillacs all in a row
Out in the desert?
What is that all about?
A shrine to cars
Maybe someday all the cars will be gone and that will be all that is left
Rusting scrap metal, relics left after the petroleum war is over
When there is no more to be had
And people get tired of scarring the land with paved freeways going here there and everywhere
Ribbons of highways that even crossed oceans
Open mining that raped the land beyond the ability of nature to ever recover
Blood diamonds in Africa and copper mines in AZ leaking radiation all over the native peoples
Where a wedding ring is more important than a man's arm
